Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring (NILM) or Non-Intrusive Appliance Load Monitoring (NIALM) systems are processes which record and analyze electrical voltages and currents in a main or branch power circuit to monitor the nature and changes in electrical loads. Lechtzer is involved in cutting edge R&D to develop novel analysis and signature identification for electrical events relevant to risk reduction through early fault detection and for the purpose of energy conservation. Methods are being developed to acquire sufficient and accurate total load data to separate the load into its major appliances. Major issues involve gaining convenient access points for measurement and real-time signal interpretation based on our data acquisition and analysis experience.
